Printing with McKenna Pro

I’ve ordered a metallic print of an image I took! Thanks to my photography professor’s provided coupon code, I won’t have to bust my wallet even! This being the third time I’ve printed anything, I still depended on some help to get the image ready for it.

After some looking over, and talking it over, my professor suggested I use this image that I had taken at Bannack back in February. That stove handle did turn out pretty well. But check out the difference some post-editing made:

My professor helped me use Photoshop and Adobe Bridge to edit this one. I’ve been using Lightroom more, so it was helpful to see the other tools back in action. She showed me how to use multiple Photoshop masking tools to bring out specific colors, sharpen focused areas, and add a slight darkening around the borders. Contrast and exposure tweaked up, and a slight warm tint added in to bring out the details. I felt it gave a nice, rustic appearance.

Then learning how to use McKenna pro’s handy desktop app let me order this to be printed on 16×24 styrene mounted metal. I’m very grateful for a coupon that let me print it for $10, instead of $30 I’m very excited to see how this turns out. Who knows, maybe my apartment will finally have something nice to hang on the walls! Maybe I’ll end up placing more print orders if I get more good photos.
